Core Beliefs
We believe the Scriptures were “given by inspiration of God” by which we
understand that both the Old and New Testaments equally and in all parts are verbally trustworthy, being written by men of God who “were moved
by the Holy Spirit”.
2 Timothy 3:16-17,
2 Peter 1:21
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable.
Matthew 28:18-19, John 1:14,
Hebrews 1:1-3, Revelation 1:4-6
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man and was begotten in the flesh by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary; that He lived a sinless life; that He is God manifested in the flesh; that His death was vicarious; that He bodily arose from the dead; that He ascended into heaven, and that He is coming again.
Isaiah 7:14, John 1:1-3,
John 1:14, John 14:1-9,
Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:20,
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Hebrews 7:26,
I Peter 2:24, Revelation 20:4-6
We believe the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is God; that through His work men are convicted, regenerated, in-dwelt, empowered, and transformed into Christ’s image and
are enlightened, guided, and enabled in life, testimony, and service.
Acts 5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 3:18,
Titus 3:5-6, Ephesians 1:18,
John 14:17, John 16:7-13,
Acts 1:8
We believe that man was originally created in the image and likeness of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical but spiritual death, which is separation from God; that all human beings are born sinners with a sinful human nature and so are rebels, thus incurring the wrath of God.
Genesis 1:26-27
Romans 3:10-23; 5:12 and 8:7
We believe that marriage is given and designed by God to be a relationship between one man and one woman.
Genesis 2:24 and 5:1-2
We believe that salvation was provided by Jesus Christ in His substitutionary and sacrificial death on the cross; that all, who by faith believe in Him and receive Him, are perfectly justified by His blood and are born again of the Holy Spirit and, therefore, are children of God and are eternally saved.
Mark 10:45, John 11:50,
Romans 5:10, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21,
Hebrews 2:9, John 10:28-29,
Romans 8:35-39, John 1:12,
Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30
We believe that the Church is Christ’s Body, made up of believers who are born again by the Holy Spirit and by His baptism united to Christ.
Matthew 16:16-18, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13,
Ephesians 1:20-24, Colossians 3:14-15
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved, in the everlasting blessedness of the saved and in the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in hell.
Luke 16:19-26, 2 Corinthians 5:8,
Philippians 1:23, Revelation 20:11-15
We believe that the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowing of gifts. These gifts were given for the purpose of confirming the Word of God and for the edification of the church
and for evangelism.
We believe that a Christ-controlled life, manifested by love, is the evidence of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 12:14,
Romans 12:4-9, 1 John 4:7-12
